Eva’s Story
The idea for Eva’s trust grew out of our desire to provide Eva with all that is available to help her lead a full life. Eva has Cerebral Palsy, which is a lifelong condition that insurance companies meekly support. Instead, families are forced to finance nearly all therapies and much of the cost for equipment. Even certain necessary medical procedures allowing for a comfortable life are often denied. Cerebral Palsy is regarded as the most expensive lifelong disorder, typically costing families $2 million over a lifetime just to maintain comfort.
Cerebral palsy is different for every person depending on the event and magnitude of the event causing the onset. Eva’s CP limits her ability to use her limbs, has weakened her trunk and neck control, ultimately slowing her development. Eva is an amazing and sharp little girl trapped in a difficult body. Therapies to date have improved Eva’s strength and tone, which we believe will ultimately lead to her greater independence.
Our desire is to garner hope from others – to be able to finance therapies, equipment, devices and medical procedures that will improve Eva’s quality of life, leading her to a place of independence she yearns for every day.
